Hello everyone, with the snow melting, and Easter rapidly approaching, we wanted to make sure you are up to date with all things H&WB-related. Health and Wellbeing Forum

Our next Forum meeting will focus on mental health and how we can improve the experience of people with mental health problems from services. We would like to promote the good practice within our sector, so if you would like to promote the work of your service – get in touch.
March Networking Event Update
The first of our networking event was held in March, bringing together commissioners and voluntary groups in the borough, providing an opportunity for the sector to start preparing deeper partnership working. The agenda looked at:
- The Joint Strategic Needs Assessemnt and how this can support commissioning bids
- The commissioning framework,
- Healthy lifestyles programme
- Transformation programme
- Updates from mental health and drugs and alcohol
We had some great pitches from a number of local groups who are looking to work in closer with others and presented great pitches.

Festival of Communities
12-13 May – Call for groups to get involved
The Festival of Communities is returning for its third year on the weekend of 12-13 May, taking place in Stepney Green Park on the Saturday and the QMUL Mile End Campus on the Sunday, from 11.30-5pm on both days.
The Festival team are looking for community organisations to feature by showcasing local projects, initiatives and opportunities for local residents to get involved in, building awareness of campaigns and running listening exercises to help shape local priorities.

Tower Hamlets Community Engagement Strategy Launched
London Borough of Tower Hamlets have recently launched the council’s community engagement strategy.
The new Tower Hamlets Council community engagement strategy is now online. It draws on local and national good practice and evidence about what works. It sets out what we will do to improve how we consult and engage with local people.

Civil Society Strategy
The Government has launched a 12-week consultation with a public call for evidence to inform its new civil society strategy. The aim of the strategy is to improve how government and public bodies interact with the charity sector, in order to improve communities and build a fairer society. Because of this, the Government wants to make sure it hears the views of communities. Find out more here
The NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS DPP)
Diabetes UK (DUK) are running a consultation on behalf of the NHS. DUK have produced this consultation document at the request of NHS England and welcomes feedback from; those who have already used the programme (either themselves or a family member/relative), those who have be referred to the programme, potential future users of the service and members of the general public. London Catalyst and the Hospital Saturday Fund have come together to launch the 2018 ‘Partners for Health’ grant programme. Grants of up to £10,000 will be considered for social action projects tackling the effects of poverty and health inequalities in London, where the organisation concerned will be working in partnership with a health expert or health provider.

Pre-Entry ESOL Classes with Osamni Trust
Osmani Trust will be launching a new initiative in partnership with Maryam Centre and Muslim Women’s Collective. They will offer Free Pre-Entry ESOL Course starting from mid-April 2018 after the Easter Holidays. More information about how to register your interest is here
