Tower Hamlets Mental Health and Joint Commissioning Team is now reviewing its model of mental health recovery and wellbeing services, with a view to advertising a competitive tender for these services in November. The current model (commissioned from the Inspire Consortium) includes mental health employment support. The review includes a co-production group who would like to have an open discussion with interested parties who bring expertise and experience in social enterprise.

The aims of the meeting will be to consider whether social enterprise should play a bigger part in mental health employment support in Tower Hamlets, and to develop an understanding of what types of initiative might work, and the funding streams which may be involved.

The meeting is open to new ideas and also to ideas which (as well as people with mental health problems) could also benefit those with learning disabilities, autism or substance misuse issues who need employment support.

Next steps

In September the co-production group will put forward recommendations about what the CCG and council should commission, and what should be part of our larger joint aim to improve employment support in partnership.  These recommendations will be considered thought eh integrated commissioning and THT governance forums.

If you would like to discuss this issues, please contact Martin Bould martin.bould@nhs.net
