Tower Hamlets Council is re-writing its grants policy. Come and learn more about what's happening, contribute your ideas, and share experiences with other Board members.
This learning and networking event is aimed at Trustees and Directors of charitable and other non-profit organisations operating in Tower Hamlets.  It will be suitable for both long serving Board members and newer, less-experienced trustees; we hope to have a mixture of experiences in the room so that the group can learn from each other. 
 
This session will be the first in a number of Trustee-focussed learning sessions, and will provide an update the work that THCVS has been doing on the council's new grants policy.

We aim to cover:

  1. Overview of recent policy and funding developments affecting Tower Hamlets organisations
  2. Grants and contracts; how they work, what's changing, and how to decide what is appropriate for your organisation
  3. Emerging themes for the new council grants programme, as outlined in the draft grants framework: what outcomes are we looking for and how should we measure them?
  4. The grants process - what should it look like?  How should decisions be made?
The event will be fairly informal and there will be time for networking; we'll be guided by those present and can follow up with one to one meetings if necessary.
