If you were designing a grants policy, what would it look like? Who woud be eligable to apply? What would the maximum grant amount be?
Tower Hamlets Council is co-producing it's new grants policy with local VCS groups and community members to ensure that the future of grants in the borough is fair and responsive to everyone. Come and be part of the process in this interactive workshop to co-design the grants policy framework.
The council is moving toward commissioning important work from the VCS, rather than rely on grants. This is part of their committment to the Tower Hamlets VCS strategy (2016-19). However it makes sense to keep grants for some purposes. In those cases a new grants policy is needed. This will be the main event that will allow the VCS and community members to feed into the process of the new grants policy development. We will be discussing feedback from the Launch Event and shaping the framework of the grants policy, including:
- What areas of work should kept as grants (as opposed to being commissioned by the council)
- Areas of focus for grants
- Should grants be one-off or long term?
- Size of grants
- How often can people apply
- Can people apply for multiple grants?
- Matchfunding criteria
- ...and more

The workshop will run until 1pm and lunch will be offered afterwards. This is a repeat session of this workshop, 2;30pm-5:30pm on the 16th November, at Poplar Union (book here for the 16th November session.).
