Getting to Grips with Commissioning
We have teamed up with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to provide a 2-part course for anyone interested in gaining excellent tools to tender from public sector bodies. This course is a great opportunity to learn from an insider perspective, and to find out how you can give yourself the best chance of successfully tendering for public sector business.
Getting to Grips with Commissioning PART I:
Understanding Pre-Qualifying for Tenders Questionnaires (PQQs)
What is the workshop about?
During the workshop we will look at sample questions, many of which are used by a number of public sector bodies along with an example of the standard pre-qualification questionnaire currently in use at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This session will take you through the pre-qualification process and will give you a greater understanding of how best to complete a PQQ
Why should you attend?
Getting the PQQ right is critical as competition for public sector business increases. Even small mistakes at this stage can see an organisation fail to make the tender shortlist, while recurring failure at this stage can be quite costly, both in terms of lost revenue and resources. This workshop is designed to highlight the key areas that need to be considered in order to submit a successful PQQ.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for those are new to PQQs and have never completed one before as well as those who want to brush up their skills.
Getting to Grips with Commissioning PART II:
Effective Tender Writing
What is the workshop about?
This half-day course looks at the requirements, content and composition of public sector tenders. By looking closely at the specifications of public sector buyers, it will provide guidance on how to write and submit a compliant tender. You will learn how to structure a tender that adheres to general public procurement processes.
Why should you attend?
There is more to putting together a tender response than just answering questions. You need to understand the key drivers and ethos of the public sector and if you can reflect your understanding within your tender response, then so much the better.
Who should attend? Anyone involved in drafting tender responses or who is likely to undertake this role in the near future will benefit from attending. To get the most out of this workshop, you need to have completed the PQQ course (above) first.
This is a 2-part course so, please ensure you can attend on both dates before you book. There will be a £50 charge to your organisation if you fail to attend.
